Most working weeks don’t leave much room for making things with your hands. Our adult art classes do. Whether you are starting from zero or returning to a practice you left behind, our art classes for art classes build confidence, sharpens observation, and offers a creative outlet.
Our classes give you the technical foundation to translate what you see and feel onto paper or canvas. You will learn to handle materials with greater control, observe with sharper accuracy, and build the kind of artistic confidence that comes from steady practice.
Many of our students describe their time in the studio as the most restorative part of their week. Working with your hands, focusing on colour and form, and stepping away from screens creates the kind of focused, unhurried attention most working weeks don’t leave room for. It is also a way to process thought, express emotion, and reconnect with a creative instinct that most working adults simply don’t have time for.
Our adult classes are individualised, which means beginners and experienced artists work side by side, each progressing at their own pace. There is no fixed group pace and no pressure to keep up with other students. Instructors guide you according to your goals, your starting point, and the medium that interests you most.
Our adult programmes are organised into two clear pathways. Short courses, six classes long, allow you to focus on a single subject or medium without a major time commitment. Certificate courses run for a year across four semesters and provide a structured progression for those building a serious practice.

Painting at Little Artists covers oil, acrylic, and watercolour, with attention to how each medium behaves on the surface. You will work with colour mixing, value, composition, and brushwork, learning how to read a subject and make intentional choices about how to paint it. Instructors demonstrate techniques in class so you see the process before applying it to your own work.
Our programmes encourage you to experiment with materials, ideas, and approaches so you can develop a personal style over time. Printmaking and mixed-media work feature here, alongside the conceptual development that helps you find a visual language that reflects your own thinking.
You don’t have to be twelve to learn how to paint. At Little Artist, we hold regular art workshops for beginners (no skill required) and experienced adult students. Our teachers provide close guidance in a relaxed and welcoming environment in Singapore that helps to rejuvenate your senses and encourage you to take your art further.
The therapeutic side of making art is something many of our adult students discover by accident. They join to learn a skill, and then realise they have been carrying tension they did not know was there. Working on a single painting over several weeks slows the pace of thinking, gives the mind a focused task, and creates a small but real sense of accomplishment. Most describe their class time as one of the parts of the week they protect most carefully.
Our oil painting programme is designed to take anyone through the stages and techniques involved in mastering the medium, regardless of starting point. For those with little to no experience, the classes provide a structured introduction to materials, colour, and brushwork. For more advanced students, the program offers room to push technique further and develop a personal painting style.
With individual instruction, support, and demonstrations, participants often progress faster than they expect, completing finished pieces they are proud of within a few classes. The focus throughout is on artistic growth, skill development, and personal enrichment.
Beginners start with STAGE I, involving formal instruction on colour, drawing, and oil painting techniques. This stream supports students seeking to explore their own artistic ability and wanting to build foundational knowledge in the myriad techniques and varied aesthetics of the medium. This program helps to build confidence in novice artists and ultimately gives them the potential to move up to STAGE II.
STAGE II builds on prior knowledge and exists for experienced painters and sketchers, helping you to better understand the details of colour theory and the application of various techniques. You’ll be provided with a wide range of subjects to help you develop into a flexible, multi-talented artist. Our instructors will help you begin to conceive of, create, and refine a piece of your own that’s in line with your ability and experience, ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable process.
Those who graduate from STAGE I & II will move on to more advanced work. Those starting at an intermediate level will move more swiftly into advanced directions. Stage lengths vary and largely depend on individual pace and ability.

I was a student at Little Artist for approximately a year. It was an enriching experience as I was able to develop my technical skills with the guidance of multiple teachers as well as develop my conceptual thinking. Little Artists had all the materials and help I required in order to create a visual form for my thoughts ?

Yes. Our short courses and STAGE I certificate program are designed for students with no prior experience. Instructors guide you through materials, techniques, and fundamentals, so you are never expected to know anything before you start.
Depending on the course, you will work with oil paints, watercolours, soft pastels, graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, and printmaking materials. We cover the basics in class so you learn how each medium works.
Most students attend one class per week, which allows time for reflection and personal practice between sessions. More frequent attendance can speed up progress, particularly for those working toward a certificate or preparing a body of work.
No prior experience is needed for our short courses or for STAGE I of our certificate programme. If you are already an experienced painter or sketcher, our advanced streams and STAGE II classes offer room to push your work further.
